ANTIQUE SEXTANT.
Antique Sextant made by Cary, London.
A fine late 19th century navigators Sextant, brass frame with 'T' frame design. Engraved on the arc Cary, London.
The silver scale is engraved from -5 degrees to 150 degrees and can measure angles up to 128 degrees, it is divided into 10 minute increments. The index arm has swinging scale magnifier, the silver Vernier scale reads from 0 to 10 seconds of arc. 8 inch radius.
This antique Sextant is contained within its original hardwood box. It comes with two telescopes ( one with rack and pinion focussing ) two eye piece sun filters and mirror adjusting tool. National Physical Laboratory examination certificate dated 1902.
