Antique Sextant by Heath & Co Ltd, London.

A fine late 19th century navigators Sextant, Royal Navy pattern 'Bell' frame design. Engraved on the arc Heath & Co Ltd, Crayford, London, S.E and also engraved with the Royal Navy Officers name J.V. Creagh. R.N.

The silver scale is engraved from -5  degrees to 150 degrees and can measure angles up to 136 degrees, it is divided into 10 minute increments. The index arm has swinging scale magnifier, the silver Vernier scale reads from 0 to 10 seconds of arc. 6.5 inch radius.

It is contained within its original hardwood box that has a patent push button release mechanism and brass carry handle.

It comes with three telescopes, one spare eyepiece and one eyepiece sun filters.


One eyepiece sun filter and screwdriver are missing, also the box turn catch is missing.
