A fine mid to late19th century navigators Sextant with the 'Curve Bar' frame design. Beautifully hand engraved on the arc Middleton & Gruby, Hull.
The silver scale is engraved from -5 degrees to 155 degrees and can measure angles to 130 degrees, it is divided into 10 minute increments. The index arm has swinging scale magnifier, the silver Vernier scale reads from 0 to 10 seconds of arc.
This sextant has a 6 inch radius.

This antique Sextant is contained within its original hardwood box. It comes complete with all its accessories - Three telescopes, telescope sun filter, mirror adjusting tool and original magnifiying glass.
