A fine late 19th century navigators Sextant, brass frame with curve bar frame design. Engraved on the arc G. Whitbread, London.

The silver scale is engraved from -5  degrees to 155 degrees and can measure angles up to 139 degrees, it is divided into 10 minute increments. The index arm has swinging scale magnifier, the silver Vernier scale reads from 0 to 10 seconds of arc. 6 inch radius.

This antique Sextant is contained within its original hardwood box. It comes complete with all its accessories - three telescopes, one eye piece sun filter and mirror adjusting tool.
