BRONZE MINESWEEPER ANCHOR, ROYAL NAVY / BRITISH ADMIRALTY.

A genuine ex Royal Navy / British Admiralty solid bronze anchor.

These bronze anchors were used aboard Royal Navy Minesweepers because they are non-magnetic.

This Admiralty Pattern anchor is sometimes referred to as a Fishermans pattern anchor.

It is made from Manganese Bronze and was cast in 1952 ( date stamped on the anchor )

The anchor is stamped with the British Admiralty Broad Arrow or crows foot mark.

The main Shank of the anchor is weight stamped 62 lbs and the moveable Stock arm is weight stamped 12 lbs, giving a total weight of 74 lbs or 33.5 Kilos.

There is also a bronze shackle attached to the head of the anchor
